A BAD START...

My colleague, Jodi Law, has been a bad influence in the starting process of this project.
By living in Stoke-On-Trent, it has to be said that the variety of restaurants is rather limited, unless you're looking for fast food, then in that case, there's a plentiful supply of establishments!

One of the few places to get something to eat here is the Ember Lounge situated on the Stoke Campus at Staffordshire University. It's also conveniently close to where us Broadcast Journalism students spend most of our time; in the Newsroom. Thus when we've been beavering away at our desks all day long, what better way to reward ourselves than with a big fat juicy quarter pounder with fries, a side order of chicken dippers an ice cold pint (or in my case, a Coke)...

So the starting point begins, tomorrow...

THE START...

I suppose this is the hardest part, taking the first step in this dramatic lifestyle change. Before I delve into this project, over the next week I'll post videos and pictures of what my lifestyle is like at the moment so you can get a sense of how hard this switch is actually going to be.

Being a DJ is a fundamental reason as to why I don't eat very well. After I've done a 4 hour set, the first thing I want when I finish at 1am, is a nice greasy Donner Kebab from 'Perfect' Kebab...

..or go to the Orwell Truck Stop, the only restaurant in Ipswich where you're guaranteed to be able to get your hands on a fry-up, or even a roast dinner in the early hours..!

That's the first part of my lifestyle that needs to be eliminated, as well as Coca Cola. I can't resist it, people who know me will say that I can't go anywhere without a pint of the brown rotting acid. I'm not a big drinker, I always prefer to have my car than drink at a weekend. As a substitute for alcohol, Coke takes its place, in  vast quantities! I think that's going to be one of the hardest factors that's going to have to come out of my life.

Here we go then, my mission to tone up in time for July is going to be blogged here for you all to see, and perhaps snigger at too. First step, to the gym...
